How do I schedule an appointment with Dr. Parmar?

To make an appointment, please call our office at 805-835-4401. The State of Mind Wellness Center staff will help with scheduling and can answer any questions you may have.

What age groups does Dr. Parmar see?

Dr. Parmar treats patients 13 years of age and older. She enjoys working with adolescents and their families as well as adults of all ages.

Will Dr. Parmar collaborate with my other healthcare providers?

Yes, Dr. Parmar believes that it is important to collaborate with your outside psychotherapists and physicians in order to provide quality integrated treatment.

Does Dr. Parmar prescribe marijuana?

Dr. Parmar does not prescribe marijuana. However, she does offer patients her expertise and knowledge surrounding the subject. Dr. Parmar will discuss treatment options when appropriate, answer pertinent questions, and provide patients with psychoeducation regarding the endocannabinoid system.

What if I am unable to keep my appointment or need to reschedule?

Dr. Parmar understands that there will be times when you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. With less than 24 hours advance notice, you will be charged a $75 fee for schedule changes and missed appointments.

Does Dr. Parmar accept insurance?

Dr. Parmar is not contracted with any insurance companies. Her front office staff will submit claims as an out-of-network provider for patients who would like to utilize their out-of-network benefits. Her front office staff is always available to help verify your insurance policy and answer any questions you may have.

How long has Dr. Parmar been practicing medicine?

Dr. Parmar has been practicing medicine since 1996.

Does Dr. Parmar do therapy?

Yes, Dr. Parmar provides talk therapy to patients, which is often times alongside medication management.

How long are office visits?

After your initial consultation with Dr. Parmar, follow up office visits are either 30-minutes or 60-minutes. The follow up office visits depend on the treatment plan that you and Dr. Parmar establish together.

What are your office hours?

State of Mind Wellness Center is open Monday through Friday by appointment. Office hours are from Monday through Thursday: 10am – 5pm and Friday: 9am – 3pm

Does Dr. Parmar offer genetic testing or any other type of testing?

Yes, Dr. Parmar offers genetic testing and micronutrient testing. Genetic testing is a powerful tool in guiding treatment decisions and allows Dr. Parmar to individualize medication management according to your unique genetic profile. Micronutrient testing is also offered which helps Dr. Parmar understand your nutritional status and how it is affecting your emotional wellbeing.
